Why I Still Believe Business Is Built Face to Face

By Hannah, CEO of Greywick

When people ask me what makes Greywick different, my answer is usually pretty simple:

We believe business is still personal.

In a world where almost everything has become automated, it’s easy to forget that behind every company is a person making decisions, solving problems, and trying to grow their business. Emails, digital ads, and AI tools all have their place, but I’ve always believed that nothing replaces a genuine conversation.

That’s why we’ve built our company around face-to-face relationships.

Meeting someone at their place of business gives you the opportunity to listen before you speak. You get to understand their goals, their challenges, and what success actually looks like for them. It creates a level of trust that can’t be built through a series of emails or a sales script.

Trust is one of those things that takes time to earn and only a moment to lose.

That’s why I tell our team that honesty and transparency have to come first. If we don’t have the right solution, we should say that. If we make a mistake, we should own it. If a business owner has questions, we should answer them directly.

People remember how you make them feel, and they remember whether they felt they could trust you.

Our first-year projections reflect that opportunity. With a full pipeline, a highly trained team, and a scalable outreach model, we anticipate strong revenue performance, rapid market penetration, and consistent client growth throughout our first 12 months.
But numbers alone aren’t what excite us—it’s the people.

I’ve found that the strongest business relationships aren’t built by trying to close the fastest sale. They’re built by showing up consistently, communicating clearly, and doing what you said you were going to do.

The same philosophy applies to building a team.

As a leader, I don’t believe my role is simply to manage people. My job is to help them grow.

At Greywick, we spend a lot of time developing our team because I know that when people feel supported, they become more confident. They communicate better. They solve problems more effectively. They become leaders themselves.

Some of my favorite moments aren’t tied to numbers or milestones. They’re seeing someone earn their first promotion, watching a team member gain confidence during a presentation, or hearing about a great customer experience that happened because someone chose to do the right thing.

Those moments matter because they create a culture where people know they are valued.

I also believe that recognition is an important part of leadership. Hard work deserves to be acknowledged. Growth deserves to be celebrated. When people know their effort matters, they’re inspired to continue raising the standard for themselves and for those around them.

As we’ve grown in Nashville, I’ve been incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished. Not simply because of the results we’ve achieved, but because of the way we’ve achieved them.

We’ve built relationships.

We’ve earned trust.

We’ve developed people.

And we’re just getting started.

At the end of the day, I don’t think business has become less personal. I think people are simply looking for authenticity now more than ever.

They want to work with people who are honest.

They want to partner with companies that are transparent.

They want to know that the person sitting across from them genuinely cares about helping them succeed.

That’s the culture we’re building at Greywick.

Because I still believe the best business relationships start with a conversation—and the strongest companies are built by the people who never lose sight of that.
